Treatment for Iraq War Veterans..?
Samara - Tuscon, Arizona
I saw a piece a few days back on News 4 here in AZ about acupuncture and veterans that have fought overseas in Iraq. Some clinic not far from where I live claims to offer treatment. This got me thinking about acupuncture and the pressure points of the body versus ones psychological state of mind. Chinese thinking is very fascinating and judging by the integration of acupuncture in today's society, they might really be onto something too. I know often doctors will put someone depressed on anti depressants in addition to psychotherapy but in the near future I wonder if they will instead revert to acupuncture!
RE: Sleep Partner Acupuncture Bracelet
Jonah - Bridgeton, New Jersey
Actually Phyl, I just did a quick search on Google and there has been a bit of buzz just recently from a piece called "Sleep Partner Acupuncture Bracelet Is Heavy On Snake Oil, Lacks Needles." This piece says that it doesn't even puncture your skin, which if true, would be very poor for a product that claims to be the acupuncture bracelet! Hope this helps.
Sleep Partner Acupuncture Bracelet - does it work?
Phyl - Sacramento, CA
I have seen advertisements for this thing but never heard anything about it? It is supposed to help you sleep better at night by regulating your circadian rhythms. I just want a review!!

Supposedly this is a form of cosmetic treatment that is an alternative to plastic surgery, and it can actually make your skin more youthful and vibrant. I have a few wrinkles that I'd love to cover up, without the help of make up I mean =D I can't stand the idea of needles being put into my skin, but I really want a medical opinion from a doctor or a med student. Is cosmetic acupuncture really just a phase in medicine or this something that is going to stick around and become something mainstream? What are the potential issues? I don't want to make my skin worse obviously, even if there is a small risk. I just want to learn, thank you! I am a bit shy and would rather look up some info online first before calling up a doctor!
Hockey player turns to acupuncture
Giorgio - Camden, AR
If any of y'all follow hockey a player on the NY Rangers, Center Scott Gomez, has gotten acupuncture treatments to help with a sore groin. Is this a mental thing? I mean, I just have to ask, exactly how much of acupuncture really is physical. I just find it really something that a hockey player can respond so well to this kind of off beat therapy and actually heal and get back out there on the ice in one of the most physical contact sports there is.
Check out this seminar
Kristina - Botetourt, VA
If you live in Virginia near and around Annandale there is a free seminar on acupuncture and oriental medicine at the Good Day Total Health Clinic on Dec. 3rd, TODAY! I work at a health clinic and I have been recommending this information to all of my patients with stress management issues. Many people know of acupuncture and that it is a common treatment but this is a good chance to get a deeper understanding of how it can directly help YOU! This is really not an advertisement, I am just passionate about my job and I think that many forms of oriental medicine can work wonders on the human body
WOW Kate Moss is using acupuncture!!
Julia - Placentia, California
I was doing my gossip checks earlier (what else is new) and I saw that an online British magazine called "Now" reports that Kate Moss is going to get acupuncture for her boyfriend Jamie Hince so she can quit smoking. I thought this was so interesting. I think smoking is a gross habit so I'm glad that Jamie can talk some sense into her! I just didn't know that acupuncture has a lot to do with cigarettes. I stumbled upon this site and it has some cool acupuncture info, I will check back, have a good day guys!!
Oonki Acupuncture?
Risa - Virginia Beach, VA
My dad lives in Sedona, AZ and he told me about this weird acupuncture practice called Oonki acupuncture. He said it involves music, as a part of brain therapy. His friend uses someone called Banya Lim and she is great. Can someone else post some information about this, thank you~~~
needle penetration?
Bryan - Queensland, Australia
Hi! When you are getting acupuncture do you HAVE to have the needles go into your skin? Does it have the same effect if the needles just graze it a little bit? I am intrigued by acupuncture, but a little scared at the same time. Can someone help?
Health Alliance Plan
Timmy - Sherman Oaks, CA
Hey all. Apparently with the new year coming Medicare Advantage decided to revamp some of its policies. Among these, *drum roll* will be..ACUPUNCTURE! Yeah I'm a dork lol. But a big reason for this is the growing number of people that receive chiropractic care for chronic conditions. Anybody that has or does do acupuncture will tell you, it rocks and makes life a lot more bearable. Kudos to HAP for getting this done for 2009!
Acupuncture vs meds
Audrey - Sevierville, TN
Hi Daphnie, i read that one too! What I found particularly interesting about the article is that at the bottom of it when Maggie Fox says that acupuncture can reduce nausea brought on by chemotherapy.
Cure for headaches???
Daphnie - Visalia, CA
A new article on Reuters talks all about acupuncture and its effect on chronic headaches. U.S. researchers found that in a "review of studies involving nearly 4,000 patients with migraine" symptoms, 17% more reported relief for headaches while on acupuncture versus being on medication. I suffer chronic headaches and have for most of my life, so I found this bit interesting. I've never thought about acupuncture, but maybe it's worth a shot now.
Does accupuncture cure
Simon - Clinton, MI
I heard that accupuncture is good for people with migrains and allergys. Can anybody out there confirm the medical benefits of accupuncture? And how much should I look to spend before I see results? Does insurance cover it?
acupuncture
Joe - Bentonville, AR
Don't worry the needles don't really hurt. Sometimes you won't feel them sometimes you do. But I wouldn't describe it as painful, maybe a mild pinch at worst.
advice on acupuncture
Kaylee - Atlanta, GA
Hello, can any women out there give me advice on acupuncture? I have been getting very bad menstrual cramps and my doctor said acupuncture has been known to help many women with similar conditions. I am a little bit nervous that it will hurt despite research that says everything to the contrary. Thank you.
